Mr. Lebanon Wissam Hanna has snatched "Mr. International" title from among 22 men competing in Singapore to become the best looking men in the world, An Nahar reported Monday.

I've often heard people say "bi iyyem el 7areb" then referring to stuff they have been through which made them suffer of course but did it make them stronger?
i think people who lived during a war would naturally be peaceful human beings because of the injustice, the deaths and the tragedies they've gone through
But we should also consider another theory
these people have witnessed so many horrible unjustified things that they would want revenge
I was thinking the other day that world war II has ended only 6O years ago so the memories are still fresh, some of those who have been through this war are still alive and the reasons, ideologies and consequences of this war still exist.
We should wait at least another century for the effects of this war to fade away completely, until the whole generation disappears .
Of course we shouldn't forget what has been done and said but we will always have history books to remind us but i mean in the future the whole pschological consequence of war would have disappeared.
So to explain all the insanities in this world when it comes to politics in the "Western World" i think we can blame it on previous wars
On a more local point of view, i think the huge gap between you and your parents is of course in some part due to technology but it is also a consequence of the last war in lebanon
This is why sometimes you whine about every little thing and they can't stand that because war made them appreciate life and lowered their standards of what happiness could be.
So for those of us who weren't born in the last war but who had to live its consequence (unemployement, bad economy etc...) and who are now living this horrible war and feeling completely powerless ; how will this affect us i wonder?
Because u reassure urself by saying this will make u stronger when actually it could tear u appart in the next few years!

remember when you used to watch a movie and then at the end when "they" kiss you're like : pffff that is soo cliche!!!!
and then there came a time when writers wanted to "surprise us" so they would write a sad ending and i imagine them at the movies hiding behind the curtain, with their evil laughs, waiting for our reactions, expecting us to appreciate the fact that they havent fallen into the cliche world
but instead we end up so mad, whining about why the girl and the boy (unless you're watching brokeback mountain) didnt end up together
then there was another other time where we'd expect that they wouldn't end up togther but then they dooooo
and we're like ohhhh its sooo cute
I DIDNT EXPECT THAT OH MY CHICH
and then u realize it's sooo cliche bis
and then the circle goes on and onnnnnnn

well you know whatttttt i suggest they people think about a third ending
but what do they tell you? a not happy ending is very risky it could jeopardize the movie's success
well ekjactttlyyyy kellou business business
they think everyone is stupid
you know in REAL LIFE its never black or white
you can always find something in between
i think if people knew how to "nuance" more in everything they say or do
we'd be living in a better world

I spent the last couple of weeks watching sex and the city (because i was out of scrubs and 24) and so i wondered : where the hell have i been the past six years?! how come i've never seen that on tv before!? how come no one has ever told me it was good!?

anyways it's smart, it's bold, it's funny, very instructive and not cliche!
it's not like one of those cheesy, boring series all about love and nothing else...
The script is really really well written! i love how they pick a topic and like apply it on each character in very different ways!
And the fashion on the show Oh my god! you feel like you wanna go shopping and buy stuff you've never had the guts to wear!
and the music is good!
but sometimes it can be so surreal but its still tv...

i hate to overnight on fridays because then i would have to sleep all afternoon and therefore miss my precious friday night!

we all seek happiness but there comes a time when we realize that it's one of the many fairytales they wanted us to believe. Then one day u ask urself the big question: AM I HAPPY?
And to answer that, you have this awful reflex of comparing urself to pple you know because let's face it, we live through others.
So, you start to think about that woman u know who has cancer, your neighbours who got divorced, your alcoholic friend etc... and meanwhile a quick body and brain scan reports 0 errors and u sigh in relief and tell urslef I SHOULD BE HAPPY and u translate it I AM HAPPY
but are u really?
i think that happiness shouldn't be a relative thing
i think everyone has his concept of happiness and it's certainly not the same but it shouldnt involve money problems, health problems, psychological problems, relationship problems, an unfullfilled dream or a bad haircut
And because unfortunately problems will always exist ( i dont know why), no one, not a single person on earth nor in the whole universe is or will ever be happy!
if u hear someone saying:' i'm happy' it means he got the closest to his dreams and now he's content with what he has... he has actually surrendered his ambitions to the cruelty of life
so its the previous relative happiness not the absolut!
so all i wanna say is if u have everything u want except for one tiny thing that means a lot to u and u're nagging about it, it's your right to cry out loud I AM NOT HAPPY!
we can't spend the rest of our lives comparing ourselves to others
it's not possible!

yo yooo me brothers it's been a while
actually no it hasnt
well i wanted to share some ideas with u
yes this week end, unlike other week ends, i had a lot of thoughts which i wanted to write down but i didnt have much time so i said ill remember them and write them on the blog but of course i'm getting old and my brain is deceiving me day after day
but i'll try to remember as much as possible

ok so i went to london this week end and it was very weird
first i remember when i was 12 i wanted to go there so bad coz
i've always thought it was the coolest city in the world
and i know i've been in paris for 4 years now but i never got the chance to go to london coz NO ONE wanted to go with me and i hate to go alone so!!
i finally went last week end to see my brotha from anotha motha
it was raining all the time (except when when i was going back to paris, thanks 3anjad) , so the rumor turned out to be right but i the city is great u feel like playing monopoly when u read the streets' names
i mean it's very european, kinda looks like paris if u take off the buses and the taxis and u put everything back to the left
but u have no idea how much these stuff gives the city a whole other aspect
but i cant give the point to london nor paris because in spite of the similarities, each city has its charm, smth i cant explain u have to see it

the underground oh my god it's so funny
it's like 2m high so a claustrophobic person would certainly feel sick in it
bas it's so cute kootchi kootchi
but ill have to pick notre metro national, it's easier to take and more confortable

and pple are very nice UNLIKE parisians and their accent is soooo sexy mannn yummi
and they're kinda weird, i mean teenagers go out at night dressed in tshirts and girls in skirts and it was freeziiinggg.
pple r cool there, they take it easy and they have this constant need of feeling different, otherwise they feel insulted this is why they drive on the right side i guess
so london 1 for their kindness, craziness and authenticity, paris 1

now let's talk about money
well london is without any doubt more expensive than paris so london 1, paris 2
and they have a starbucks between two starbucks!

it gets on my nerve!!
and the way they talk about it,
first, they always refer to something also artistic because it 'reminds' them of a certain artist or painting or a 'mouvement artistique':" ah oui ca me rappelle l'etude de draperie pour une femme assise, de trois quarts vers la gauche de louis joseph le lorrain.
and they start using sophisticated words and the other person is like:"ouii ouiii en effet" with this fake kind of voice and then they both laugh: beh beh beh

arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
i feel like taking the painting and breaking it on their heads like in cartoon
And also everyone is dressed up in exhibitions and women have these shiny earings%$%*^(O
u know like typical occidental 'nisa2 el moujtama3'
what's that all about???

i feel a lot of pple go to see art exhibitions just so that they would feel intelligent
i know that sounds a typical lebanese thing but in lebanon, pple would go so that other pple see them
but here, since it's very rare to accidently bump into someone you know on the street or in events, pple would go for their own ego then talk about it in front of their friends
of course not everyone's like this but at least i feel there's something fake when it comes to some pple getting interested in art

design is different
at first design was supposed to be popular art ie mixing aesthetics with everyday products
but since designers feel that they're olala very important people too (like artists),
they started to have their 'caprices' and therefore design is untill today expensive

which brings me to today's topic!!!

can u always evaluate urself i mean ur work?
i mean sometimes u need others to do this for u beacause u lack confidence or u know u dont have an objective opinion (im not talking about those who pretend to be modest and say noooo i hate what i did when actually they love it but dont want to admit it)
and sometimes, u feel that all these hours of work finally paid off and u're so proud of urslelf and its such a great feeling, thats when it gets scary!
because when this happens and other pple dont like what u did ure sooooo crashed
which is why a lot of pple pretend they dont like their work in front of others so that they dont fall from up high

self confidence is a great thing but it can do u some harm so u really have to be careful and think it through before u show it. because there's a thin line between self confidence and arrogance

A not very confident but humble person's work would seem nicer than a confident arrogant person
i mean that's obvious
even if the last person's work is better
so it's really tricky
and being self confident and humble at the same time seems like the ideal combination but it's very hard to reach
i wish i had the recipe but im looking for it

i know i sound paranoid
i mean i dont plan my emotions wondering what pple might be thinking
but i noticed that a lot of times my behaviors dont convey exactly what i'm feeling that's why i feel misunderstood so maybe i should plan more
