Da Vinci code v/s Paulo Coelho

If we were to consider what the recent sole object of interest for the Lebanese youth is, we would feel deeply sorry. So somebody used the old expression of "give me 5", removed the "give me" part and replaced it with a hi. Nevertheless, omitting the "give me" part did not stop people from using this "multi-cultural" site as means of rating each other’s looks. Once again, we prove how successful we are at misusing any kind of neutral experiment that comes into our lives.
Congratulations and chapeau bas to the Lebanese.
Another sad feature of this site, is the waste of its potential positive aspects -prepare urself for it: "the favorite books" section. As if the posted photos do not reflect their true identity! Thus they just had to emphasize and show us how lame they truly are. Posting a stupid portrait, where every girl is "the hottie" and every guy is "the coolest", just wouldn’t do! They have to elaborate more; they have to tell us that they do read, that they are –indeed- intellectual individuals worth interacting with.
To my amazement, everyone -ok if not 99%- is cult enough to have their favorite books: either something by Paulo Coelho, or The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
So to all of you hi five people out there, I have news for you "there are other books in the world". And, just because, you have only read one book or two throughout ur whole lives doesn’t give you the right to say that this is ur "favorite book".
So to all of u readers out there, how about we start the Da Vinci code v/s Paulo Coelho competition???
for voting, plz call #### and follow the instructions:

1) press 1 for the Da Vinci code
2) press 2 for Paulo Coelho
3) press 3 if u try to be different and state that u like anything by Danielle Steel.

May the Best man win

as a hifiver who got into the system after a lot of pressure (ie lots and lots of invitations by email) i agree with my friend 'man kifak man but its not that simple.
Since 90 percent of pple who can read have read da vinci code and since 70 percent of those only read a book once a decade i think we should nghed el nazar because at least they read smth and liked it
maybe with this book they discovered the joy of reading hehe
what, it can happen!
now as a da vinci code reader, i admit the book is fun bass its not a chef d'oeuvre but pple loved it for a reason
i dont read a lot of books myself its not my thing but i admire writers whose books r read and loved by millions of pple u know like rowling ballouta haydi taba3 harry pottAr
harrrreeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!with the english accent plz

i mean come on theres gotta be smth special about them
they understand what the cha3ebb wants because a good writer is a good sociologue and should be dans l'air du temps olalala

so back to the fav book phenomenon well as i said i agree with u man coz to someone cultivé like u ull find this silly
i mean if u compare it to clothes it's like da vinci code is jeans and other books r haute couture not everyone can wear haute couture coz it's more ciblé fhemet kif man?

so to sum up we should look at the birght site:this new generation has at least read a book
btw well go watch the movie together if u let me!
paul coelho is more philosophic so if i wanna pretend to be part of the mass je vote 1!

the customer is always right

lek man ya man, enno sa7ebtak 3am betkhounak. but that's not the point. i wasnt implying that the books are dull or meaningless, i was just shocked at how people just get carried away by any kind of publicity and sink right into it.
it's like when everyone started to adore Nancy ajram!
nancy i luv u
halla2 i do dance to her songs with mahmoud... but it's not my favorite music! that is a place reserved for the one and only Billie holiday.

ps: i, too have joined the hi5 in order to stop all the invitations, and i thought it wasnt such a bad idea to see whatver happened to all those pple i knew!
i was wrong

i like the way you distance yourself from the masses, speaking of they versus us. as if each and everyone of us is a guru of intellect and has shelved tons of pricless knowledge under their armpits! at least dan brown had a great imagination, produced something, and has a perfect command of english

hehe... the only reason Lebanese are so into Davinci Code is that it's banned in Lebanon.. and the ironic thing: Everyone has a copy!

As for Paulo, what's with the guy? it's like 3am bifarrekh ketob 3al tale3 wel nezel! I say reading one or two Paulo Coelhos is enough to get the picture.
