004/ el 3am zaki chronicle/ anti-art-frenchpple edition
you know how when you go to an exhibition and u hear 2 pple discussing a painting!!!
it gets on my nerve!!
and the way they talk about it,
first, they always refer to something also artistic because it 'reminds' them of a certain artist or painting or a 'mouvement artistique':" ah oui ca me rappelle l'etude de draperie pour une femme assise, de trois quarts vers la gauche de louis joseph le lorrain.
and they start using sophisticated words and the other person is like:"ouii ouiii en effet" with this fake kind of voice and then they both laugh: beh beh beh
arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
i feel like taking the painting and breaking it on their heads like in cartoon
And also everyone is dressed up in exhibitions and women have these shiny earings%$%*^(O
u know like typical occidental 'nisa2 el moujtama3'
what's that all about???
i feel a lot of pple go to see art exhibitions just so that they would feel intelligent
i know that sounds a typical lebanese thing but in lebanon, pple would go so that other pple see them
but here, since it's very rare to accidently bump into someone you know on the street or in events, pple would go for their own ego then talk about it in front of their friends
of course not everyone's like this but at least i feel there's something fake when it comes to some pple getting interested in art
i mean there's still a cliche about it: if u have some 'culture artistique' and u slip the name of an artist in a conversation it will always impress but u know what?
i'm not falling for that!
art is overrated this is why paintings are so expensive
design is different
at first design was supposed to be popular art ie mixing aesthetics with everyday products
but since designers feel that they're olala very important people too (like artists),
they started to have their 'caprices' and therefore design is untill today expensive
zee is no good.

so then design is not different

Loved your analysis, you have a humourous way of portraying your ideas. I feel no emotion when it comes to paintings and expositions, and I hate those people who visit them in order to express their 'artistic' views and spoon-feed them to others. Major EWWWWWWWW!
I'm not speaking on behalf of azza but first of all this is not an analysis, it's a personal opinion on a subject matter.
second, if you feel no emotion towards painting or exhibitions then it's very sad because 'art' does exist and it's called art, the "quote-unquote" is not necessary.
h.a.
hoda u need to chill
if she feels no emotion in front of a painting it's like that u can't force her!
art does exist. i mean art is a neutral word, it's smth u cant touch but u have an idea of what it is in ur head
art is not a judgment, it's a thing. sarah wasn't deniying that! she's just saying that these pple think they understand art when they actually dont
9:37 PM
she said she didn't feel emotions towards paintings. not A painting.
im not unchilled, im just giving my own opinion, isnt it what this space is for?
yeah i know she didnt mean one painting.
sorry i wasnt clear about that
but i mean a lot of pple dont appreciate art without denying its existence
and i dont see where the problem is
hodz,ur making it sound like el benet doesnt like art in general..she didnt say art doesnt exist..she was just saying that she's not into paintings and exhibitions.
"judge not,and ye shall not be judged..condemn not,and ye shall not be condemned" loooool
im now quoting the bible! haha
how cool is that?
not cool
mbala cool
no it's not
